Worship This Season
“The heart is like a garden. It can grow compassion or fear, resentment or love. What seeds will you plant there?”
Hello, fellow wonderer, wanderer, seeker of God!
Though it is slow in coming and the wind and rain and snow are still filling the air, Spring is making itself known. And although we all know that we can’t really plant anything until June around here, our minds are turning to green and fresh and growing things.
It’s something deep in our DNA, I think, this love of growing things. After all, the most important moments of our faith story have taken place in a garden: we were created and took our first breath in the Garden of Eden, we rejected God there, the prophets spoke of restoration by springs of water making a garden oasis in a wilderness, Jesus prayed and died and returned to life in a garden, and God’s final work will be in restoring a lush and vibrant paradise.
This Easter season, we will tell the story of our faith and all of the life that God promises, and celebrate the hope we have in Jesus Christ. We hope that you will join us, and praise God with halleluias, for CHRIST IS RISEN!
Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome here. If you don’t already have a church home, we invite you to join us for Saturday evening or Sunday morning worship. You may find that there are others searching for the same answers that you are. You may even find that the searching is much better together. You are welcome to call Mary in the church office (775-851-1181) any time with any question, or to talk with Pastor Dawn or Pastor Becky. We would love to hear from you.
You love your children and grandchildren. We love them too!
An excellent children’s program is provided during our 9:30 service, and loving childcare is always provided during worship. Children of all ages and stages are always welcome in worship, too!
